New Stuff
I decided to buy some new running gear last week and for that I chose Simply Sweat. From them I bought some new socks as the left sock on rotation pair number 1 (I only have two pairs) has developed a hole in the big toe region. Also from their nicely stocked active wear collections I purchased two running tops… one from Ronhill and the other Helly Hansen and both short sleeve as I only own long sleeve and there’s a heat-wave coming up , right?
Found their site really nice to use… clean and well designed and the stuff came next day. Recommended.

As per the plan I ran my midweek eight miler last Thursday on my usual ‘slightly hilly’ course. It ended up being 8.41 miles as I decided to add on a block or two

Sunday 29th May
After the 8 on Thursday my next run was scheduled to be Saturday but I thought I’d skip the 4 miler as I planned to do 12 miles on Sunday. This should be the longest run before my races on the 12th June (10k) and 19th June (9m).
I turned out to be very glad of that extra days rest as my legs felt tip top and the 12 miles felt pretty easy. Certainly more easy that the 10 miles last Sunday which might be because I made more of an effort to stick to 9 min/mi. First two miles aside, I found I struggled sticking to that pace but after that I seemed to ‘get it’ – woohoo.
